Pulborough and Pagham Harbour RSPB today

Today Lori and I dodged the rain showers to get in a little birding. Pulborough Brooks produced Green Sandpiper and Little Ringed Plover; both lifers for Lori, plus we found a really cool Caterpillar on the path back to the visitor centre. Our 'guess' is that it could be the Caterpillar of The Drinker moth. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

After filling up on the ridiculously good food at the cafe; pea and bacon soup, treacle and custard pudding for me and ginger toffee and ice cream for Lori, we headed south-full! Our destination was Pagham Harbour.

We only made a quick stop here as the weather finally went against but we did manage a quick vigil at the Ferry Pool hide. Here we got a good selection on waders to go through:

  • Black-tailed Godwit
  • Greenshank
  • Redshank
  • Lapwing
  • Common Sandpiper
  • Green Sandpiper
  • Little Ringed Plover
  • Avocet
