Buttertubs Marsh

After dropping off some toys (Action Man) to my nephews in Nanaimo, I headed to Buttertubs Marsh. Here I took a leisurely stroll around the trail, enjoying the sites and sounds that you only get at a marsh. Bird of the day for me was a pair Osprey calling above the marsh. Other species included: Mallard, Wood Duck, Pied-billed Grebe, Great Blue Heron, Bald Eagle, Eurasian Collared-Dove, Anna's Hummingbird, Rufous Hummingbird, Warbling Vireo, Northwestern Crow, Purple Martin, Tree Swallow, Violet-green Swallow, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, Bushtit, Bewick's Wren, Marsh Wren, American Robin, Cedar Waxwing, Yellow Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, Black-headed Grosbeak, Spotted Towhee, Chipping Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Red-winged Blackbird, Brown-headed Cowbird, House Finch, House Sparrow.
