Snowy Owl

A report of a Snowy Owl at Sarsons Beach in Kelowna got me running out the door. Both Conor and Emily came with me and we met up with Chris Charlesworth, Trevor Forder and Don Wilson. We scanned for some time, tried at different beach access points until finally returning to Sarsons Beach where the owl was playing hide-n-seek behind a boulder. This is my first Snowy Owl for British Columbia, all the others were seen in Alberta. While living in Alberta I was very fortunate to hook up with a fantastic bird bander called Hardy Pletz. Hardy invited me out on a few excursions where we caught and banded Snowy Owls.
